The music industry in the country I live in – Indonesia – is very much dominated by male bands right now. Starting at about three years ago when there are so many bands joining and forming together in one album, which is produced by indie company. Thus these bands then called ‘ the indie labels’.

Some bands that is produced under the labels has now been growing into huge bands, having their own albums, hundreds of fans, and off course, contracted in commercial labels. Some of them are peterpan, coklat, padi, and some more bands that I can’t write in details.

If  I follow the indie labels’ development, from what I see in tivi now there has been tens albums produced, covering tens bands.

In addition to the dedication to cover up new bands, the bands who’s placed them selves under indie labels, has also had their specific groove of music. It is usually having free rhythm, very alternative, and sometimes even wild and rambling groove.

If you are one of this indie labels’ fans, I am sure you will be flattered by the development of indie labels industry and revolution these days.
